| I have a Bachelor of Education degree majoring in History and am passionate about Irish history and culture and love to share my knowledge. Another passion of mine is travel, I have lived and worked in nine countries (in both developing and developed nations) and have travelled on every continent so I am delighted to work with fellow travellers who come to Irish shores!
I live in the heart of the Western Lakes which straddles Counties Mayo and Galway and borders the Wild Atlantic Way. I have an in-depth knowledge of counties Mayo and Galway. My family have been farming in this area for centuries so we are steeped in the local folklore and history and my tours are enlivened by many entertaining anecdotes and some tall tales.
I am a Fáilte Ireland approved Regional Tour Guide and a member of both the Galway Tour Guide Association (GTGA) and the national association, the Approved Tour Guides Association of Ireland (ATGI).
Having lived and worked in France and Belgium for a total of 17 years I am fluent In French and welcome French-speaking groups. I enjoy working with groups from any background and demographic and am available for walking tours, coach tours and cruise excursions in both English and French. |
