Úna Sinnott

I am a journalist and tour guide based in Galway, with over 25 years of experience covering events across Galway city and county. During that time, my work has kept me deeply connected to the stories, people, and places that shape this vibrant corner of Ireland.

My journey to becoming a tour guide began with a long-held passion for Irish genealogy. I am fascinated by how our ancestors lived, their relationship with the landscape, and the outsized impact our little country has had on the world.

I have lived in Galway city for most of my life, and I also have strong family ties to the Aran Islands, Co Wexford in the southeast of the country, and Northern Ireland.

I offer regular walking tours that highlight the history and heritage of Galway city, from its winding medieval lanes to its modern cultural heartbeat, featuring stories of the heroes and villains who have helped to make Galway such a special place. I am also happy to arrange a private tour of Galway for groups of any size.

I am a member of both the Galway Tour Guides Association and the Approved Tourist Guides of Ireland.

I am available as a non-driver guide for tours throughout County Galway, the Aran Islands and The Burren in Co Clare.
